Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
FanSpot ("we", "us", "our") operates fanspot.live, a platform that helps sports fans discover watch parties, sports bars, and fan zones for live sporting events. Our contact email is admin@fanspot.live.
2. What we collect
We collect the following information: Email address — when you create an account, sign up for match alerts, or contact us. Account profile — an optional display name and your favourite teams and sports, if you choose to add them. City — optionally provided when signing up for alerts, to personalise venue recommendations. Approximate location — if you allow location access, your device's approximate location is used on your device to find your nearest supported city. The precise coordinates are not sent to us or stored; only the resulting city is saved on your device (and in a cookie so pages can show venues near you). You can decline location access and choose a city manually. Contact form submissions — name, email, subject, and message. Venue submission data — business name, address, contact details, and photos provided by venue owners. Usage data — pages visited, clicks, and interactions, used to understand and improve the product. This data is pseudonymous; when you are signed in it may be associated with your account. IP address — processed temporarily for security and rate-limiting purposes, not stored permanently.
3. How we use your data
We use your data to: Send match-day alerts and watch party notifications (if you opted in). Respond to contact form enquiries. Process and review venue listings. Process venue-owner subscription payments (handled by Stripe; we do not store card details). Improve the FanSpot platform. Prevent abuse and spam. We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
4. Cookies and analytics
FanSpot uses privacy-first analytics to understand how fans use the platform. We use Vercel Analytics, which does not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. We also record our own product-usage events (for example, pages viewed and venue actions) to improve the product; these are pseudonymous and, when you are signed in, may be associated with your account. Essential cookies are used for session management and to remember your chosen city.
5. Email communications
If you signed up for match alerts, you will receive emails about watch parties, new venues, and match reminders. Every email contains an unsubscribe link. You can unsubscribe at any time. We use Resend to send emails. Your email address is stored in Supabase hosted infrastructure.
6. Data retention
Contact form messages are retained for 12 months. Match alert subscriber records are retained indefinitely unless you unsubscribe, after which your record is marked inactive. Venue submission data is retained for the duration of the FanSpot service.
7. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, email admin@fanspot.live with your request. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Third-party services
FanSpot uses the following third-party services, each with its own privacy policy: Supabase — database and account hosting. Vercel — website hosting and privacy-first analytics. Resend — email delivery. Stripe — payment processing for venue-owner subscriptions. OpenStreetMap — venue maps and location (address/city) search. Google Places — used to compile venue business information (names, addresses, hours, photos); this is not used to track you. Selecting "Get directions" opens your device's maps app (for example Apple Maps or Google Maps) with the venue as the destination.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Significant changes will be announced via email to subscribers. Continued use of FanSpot after changes constitutes acceptance.
